Reed & Weed Removal
Reed and weed removal is done by our light-weight amphibious machine. This method is much less taxing on the surrounding environment, as all work is done from inside the dam.
Our machine causes no harm.
The machine used by Dam-It Dredging has excellent weight distribution, making it ideal for working in sensitive areas where the preservation of banks and surrounding areas is important. All work is done from inside the dam/ canal/ waterway or river.

Silt Removal Process: Silt Pumped or Bagged
Dredging is the process of removing silt build-up from the bottom of dams/canals/waterways and rivers through the use of a high powered suction pump and hose. This increases the water volume and helps prevent weed growth. This process is especially important for irrigation dams where water volume is a priority. The dredger is able to pump the silt up to 300m away from the dam or into de-watering bags.
Better than destructive traditional methods

The most popular method used to remove silt and weeds was to drain the entire dam, wait for it to dry, and then use excavators or TLB’s.
These methods are extremely destructive to the surrounding area and further jeopardizes or totally destroys the already struggling ecosystem (flora and fauna).
We found Marc and his team to be honest, reliable and with an excellent work ethic. I would highly recommend Dam-lt to carry out similar works in the future. Further we plan to use Dam-lt on a regular basis as the dam silts up again.
